Isla de la Juventud
The "Isla dela Juventud" or "Island of Youth" has a very special atmosphere. It’s a divers paradise, once home to some of the most feared pirates of the Caribbean. The ocean floor here is packed with submarine life and old boats. In the south of the island you can visit one of Cuba’s most important prehistoric indigenous caves and go for swim and snorkeling on lonely beaches.
Las Tunas province, also known as the “Balcony of the East” is where eastern Cuba begins. Untouched by mass tourism, Las Tunas province is home to some stunning virgin beaches in the north and some excellent dive sites located in the Covarrubias area. It’s also home to the very peaceful capital city - Las Tunas - the “city of sculptures” and the nearby city of Puerto Padre.
Varadero is undoubtedly the center of the tourism in Cuba. The beach here has no comparison - it has everything you need for an amazing beachside holiday. In the south of the province you’ll come across the famous “Bahía de los Cochinos” or “Bay of Pigs”, home to Girón Beach. Inland, the Valley of Yumuri offers some of the most enchanting landscapes on the island.
Pinar del Rio
The fertile valleys of Pinar del Rio province are where some of the finest tobacco in the world comes from. Surrounded by its characteristic mountains, it’s home to the spectacular Valley of Viñales, a wonderful place for nature lovers. María la Gorda beach (in the extreme west) is a Mecca for scuba diving and Las Terrazas a Cuban ecological village.
Discover the enchantment of the Cuba’s colonial era in Trinidad & Sancti Spiritus, capital city! Along with the dream beach "Playa Ancón" (with its endless fine white sands) in the south of Trinidad, Sancti Spíritus offers both a beachside vacation and cultural experience. The mountains and natural protected areas are (still) the least explored part of Sancti Spíritus.
Known as the "City of Che" - Santa Clara houses the monument with the tomb of Che Guevarra. The old town “Remedios” is one of the prettiest cities in Cuba. The Sierra del Escambrey mountain range offers some excellent hiking opportunities. In the north of the province, you’ll find the beautiful Santa María Key, which forms part of the Los Jardines del Rey archipelago.
